Be sure to check out our calendar so you don’t miss a thing! You do not have to be registered for the summer reading program to attend these events. And, all of our programs are provided at no cost to you! Support for these programs is provided by the Friends of the Library and The Troy Foundation. 

Teacher Gift Idea

Are you looking for a unique teacher gift idea? If so, have you considered a donation to Dolly Parton's Imagination Library in honor of your child's teacher? Friends of the Library Spring Book Sale

The Friends of the Troy-Miami County Public Library will sponsor its spring book sale Friday, April 29 – Sunday, May 1, 2016, at the Miami County Fairgrounds, 650 North County Road 25A, Troy, Ohio. Sale times are 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. on Sunday.

A members-only preview night will be held 6-9 p.m. on Thursday, April 28, during which time NEW memberships may be purchased.

Admission is free. Most adult books are 50 cents each and children's and young adult books are 25 cents each. Specials, some books, videocassettes, CDs, collectibles, and miscellaneous items are individually priced. Sunday is $1 per bag with specials at half price.

Proceeds from the event are used for Summer Reading Club, literacy efforts and special purchases for the library. For additional information, call (937) 339-0502.

The Big Read

The Big Read bannerThe Big Read is an annual celebration of reading and conversation in the Miami Valley. Participants are invited to read “Orphan Train” by Christina Baker Kline then join in discussions taking place March 6-April 16. You can check out the book at the library.

Join us for “Searching for Birth Relatives” at the Local History Library. This free program is at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 29; learn how to search for birth parents, relatives, and children who have been adopted using the tools and databases available at the Local History Library. The Local History Library is located at 100 West Main Street in Troy, Ohio.

The “Orphan Train” book discussion, at the Troy-Miami County Public Library, will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 5; join us for a lively discussion! The Troy-Miami County Public Library is located at 419 West Main Street in Troy, Ohio.
