Teen Services Associate
Troy-Miami County Public Library continues to grow and expand to provide services to our community!
We are looking for a part-time associate to work with pre-teens and teens. Duties include, but are not limited to planning, implementing, assisting, and evaluating library programs and services, which fulfill the diverse educational, recreational and personal needs of local teens. Additional duties include providing reference assistance, creating book displays and other artistic displays, and working public services desks.
Community Outreach, Senior Manager
We are looking for a community-minded individual to oversee the library’s outreach efforts in the community by maintaining effective relationships with community officials, leaders, organizations, media, the public, and the staff. This senior manager demonstrates the willingness and ability to serve as a leader and manager and possesses excellent interpersonal, customer service, and decision-making skills.
This is the second year for the One Book, Many Communities reading initiative for northern Miami Valley residents. Local libraries involved, including ours, invite you to read The Widows by Jess Montgomery and participate in the programs focused on themes from the book. You will find scheduled events for all locations in a booklet available at our library or on the One Book Many Communities Facebook page.
If we do not own an item you want, we offer you the free service of borrowing it from another library when possible. This service takes place through SearchOhio, a consortium of public libraries throughout the state or OhioLINK, a consortium of Ohio's college and university libraries and the State Library of Ohio.
Troy- Miami County Public Library and the Oakes - Beitman Memorial Library in Pleasant Hill are closed December 24, 25, December 31, and January 1, 2020, for the holidays.
The Local History Library is closed Monday, December 23 through Wednesday, January 1, 2020. Services can be arranged by appointment only. Call 937.335.4082 for more information.
The Troy Bookmobile is off the road from Friday, December 20 through January 5, 2020.
Spring Session | March - April 2020
Registration for Baby & Me Laptimes, Toddler & Me Storytimes, Preschool Storytimes, and Family Storytimes will begin on Monday, March 2, 2020, at 9 a.m.

We want your help to determine the best choice for One Book, Many Communities. This annual event unites readers from 22 public, academic and school library systems in Champaign, Clark, Darke, Delaware, Miami, Morrow, Preble and Richland counties as they experience the same book through a variety of entertaining discussions and programs.
Love your library, but not the late fines? We are excited to announce that the Troy-Miami County Public Library Board of Trustees has approved the elimination of fines for the late return of library materials.
Wednesday, July 14 | 10:30 a.m. - The Night Watchman by Louise Erdrich
Join us for a book discussion at the library! Copies of the selected book will be available at the library or downloadable as an eBook or eAudiobook through the Digital Downloads collection using Overdrive and Libby. Can you write a horror story in just a couple of sentences? Submit your shortest, most spine-chilling story by June 20. We’ll be posting the creepiest stories online on our Facebook & Instagram pages and in the library from June 28-July 3 for everyone to vote on. The one with the most votes wins a small prize!

Bring a blanket and join us in Brukner Park, behind the library, for a mix of stories, songs, and early literacy activities in the fresh air and sunshine every week this summer! This program is appropriate for families with toddlers and preschoolers. Registration opens one week prior to each storytime - reserve a spot using the links below.
