Library of Things Donations

Troy-Miami County Public Library Seeks Community Donations for Upcoming "Library of Things" Collection

This special collection will allow patrons to borrow items beyond books and media, helping to enrich the community with tools and resources for learning, crafting, playing, and more. To make this collection as robust and diverse as possible, we are reaching out for donations of gently used items that may need a new home.

Suggested donations include:

Tools: Hand tools, power tools, and other equipment for home improvement and DIY projects.
Musical Instruments: Guitars, keyboards, drums, and other instruments for music lovers of all ages.
Board Games: Family-friendly games, strategy games, and classic favorites.
Crafting Tools: Sewing machines, knitting supplies, painting kits, and other crafting essentials.
Sports Equipment: Bicycles, basketballs, soccer balls, and other sports gear.
Educational Tangibles: STEM kits, educational toys, and interactive learning tools.
Fishing Poles: Fishing rods, reels, and related equipment for outdoor enthusiasts.
Useful Items: Any other items that can be borrowed and used by the community to support hobbies, learning, and everyday tasks

"We believe that the Library of Things will be a valuable resource for our patrons, providing them with access to items they may not have otherwise," said Rachelle Via, Director of the Troy-Miami County Public Library. "This collection will help to strengthen the sense of community in Troy by promoting the sharing of resources and knowledge."

Donations can be dropped off at the Troy-Miami County Public Library’s Maker Lab during regular business hours. All donated items should be in good working condition. A receipt for tax purposes will be provided upon request.
