Something for Everyone

The Troy-Miami County Public Library has a 1-mill, 5-year levy on the May ballot. This is the first time the library has asked for new tax funding since 2009. Supporting the library levy ensures that your community has access to essential resources, programs, and services that benefit people of all ages.

Here are some key reasons to support our levy:

  • Access to Knowledge and Technology - TMCPL provides books, databases, and other materials that many people wouldn’t otherwise be able to afford. We offer access to computers, the internet, and printing services and have a wide variety of equipment in our makerspace, The Maker Lab, helping bridge the digital divide.
  • Educational Support - From early childhood literacy programs to programs for school-age children and teens, TMCPL is a vital educational resource. Educators can stock their classrooms with carefully curated teacher collections. TMCPL staff visit schools, daycares, and other community organizations, bringing the library to the community weekly!
  • Community Programs - TMCPL hosts events and programs that enrich the community, from storytimes to crafts to resume workshops. Over 35,000 children, teens, and adults attended library programs in 2024.
  • Economic Benefits - TMCPL helps job seekers by providing public computers, job search tools, and databases. Small business owners use the Maker Lab to prototype and develop products.
  • Keeping History Alive - Our Local History & Genealogy Center staff had more than 4,100 visitors and had more than 750 people attend programs last year. Our research library features books, maps, land records, and more. You can look up property information, research your family tree, and search old local newspapers.
  • Beyond the Buildings - Outreach Services visits preschools, daycares, special needs classes, senior care facilities, neighborhoods, and community events with the Bookmobile and Book Bike weekly. TMCPL also provides home delivery to patrons who can't get to the library independently.
  • We are Where You Need Us - Oakes-Beitman Memorial Library provides a great materials collection and essential services to the Village of Pleasant Hill. At this location, we provide public laptops, internet, print and copy services, a licensed social worker, a small food pantry, and a DIY Center where people can craft hands-on projects.
  • Protecting an Essential Public Service - Without funding, libraries may face reduced hours, staff layoffs, or closures, limiting access to critical services. A library levy ensures sustainability and keeps resources available to the community.
